Regional Models are decision support tools that provide planners and decision makers with information to help them effectively allocate resources. The DCHC MPO is responsible for developing the long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), the biennial Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), major transit investment studies and several corridor studies. The travel demand model and land use model play a central role in creating the demographic and transportation forecasts that are critical for making project and policy choices in these studies and plans. The Air Quality model uses output from the Travel Demand model to calculate the hazardous emissions from the transportation sector. Details about the models can be found on the following links:
